Windows Mail - Vista

This step by step guide will walk you through setting up an IDNet email account in Windows Mail in Vista.

Click on the Windows Icon found at the bottom left side of your screen.

At the bottom of the new window you will see Start Search, type in mail then hit Enter.

Windows Mail will launch automatically. Click on Tools, Accounts.

In the new window Click on Add.

Now click on E-mail account in the list and click Next.

Enter your name as you would wish recipients of your emails to see it then click next.

Type in your email address, ensure this is entered in lower case with no spaces between the characters, click Next.

Enter the server information for your account, this will vary depending on the type of account you have.

Ensure &ldquo:Outgoing server requires authentication&rdquo: is unticked then Click Next.

Enter the account name and password specific to your email account, tick Remember my password the click Next.

Click finish then go to your Inbox, any email waiting for you should be automatically downloaded, if not click on Send/Receive. If you encounter an error relating to user name and password failure go to Tools, Accounts select the relevant account then click on Properties, work through each tab ensuring all the details were entered correctly.
